A wonderful antique set of twelve 18th century Chippendale type upholstered mahogany dining chairs. This set of 10 + 2 ( 12) late 19th / early 20th mahogany dining room chairs are in the Georgian taste having a superb quality pierced back incorporating an anthemion motif. The seats are upholstered in a good quality fabric with a very generous and comfortable saddle shaped seat. The whole are raised on George III type channel moulded legs united by a H-stretcher which make the chairs extremely stable. The set comprises a pair of armchairs.
This item of furniture has been fully restored with all the joints tightened and the chairs polished to a warm medium brown colour.
Circa 1910.
